MBP as desktop, maintaining battery life

Bah, I just finished my first calibration on my new battery, and it's already fallen to 98% capacity, wtf?!
 
One full drain every month or two is all that's needed. there is no way to fully stop battery capacity shrinkage. It's like death and taxes.
