Since Apple and Adobe aren't on good terms, Safari probably isn't going to play nice with Flash. I don't use Safari, at all, so I can't say as to what the problem you're experiencing is or how to prevent it.

I've used Firefox ever since I got my MBP and I've never had it crash on me because of a Flash error.

    1) Get the Flash uninstaller.

    2) Quit all browsers.

    3) Run the uninstaller.

    4) Download the latest Flash version.

    5) Quit all browsers.

    6) Run the Flash installer.

    7) Repair permissions!

    8) Use Safari (or Firefox).

Do post #6. If you want to run Safari (I run it and have no issues with it) check out a add-on called click to flash. That prevents all flash contact from loading in Safari. If you want flash to run (like a youtube video) click on it's window and only that will load and run. All the flash ads will not run (unless you click on them).
