My macbook went to sleep after I disconnected the power cable. The display said I had 42 % left. When I place the power cable back. It said I had 0%. Coconut said I had only 10% battery health. Weird.

After about 30 minutes of charging it now reads 100% and 100% battery health..... WTH?

Here are the current specs....... note the mAh

    Battery Information:

    Battery Installed: Yes
    First low level warning: No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 65034
    Remaining Capacity (mAh): 65034

    Amperage (mA): 1820
    Voltage (mV): 12042
    Cycle Count: 95

Is this thing ready to burn my house down?

I would leave your macbook powered off and call apple support asap. Not to be alarming, but the famous instance in which the macbook caught fire in Australia (?) was described with a problem that began like this. I would be cautious. And, hopefully you have Applecare.

    Just my $.02.

I get this! I described it yesterday. I'm going to call Apple on monday. (but it's easter so i don't think they'll be open)

I hope they send me a new battery I really couldn't be bothered going to the ONLY apple authorised fixer in Northern Ireland.

EDIT: When i called, they asked me to reset the PMU? or something like that, and it still didn't work. As far as i know re-booting your laptop should reset the PMU so if that doesn't work phone them , like i'm going to.

I have been using the computer without the power adapter, and has remained pegged at 100% for over an hour. The indicator on the battery itself (green LEDs) show full also. I think the battery has somehow been grossly overcharged.

I have a fire extinguisher handy.......

Mine just went from 27% down to 0% and was on 0% for 30 mins.

I then (for fear of giant explosion) plugged in the power....then quickly took it out and the computer went to sleep but was easily awoken by a key tap to show 0%!.

I've had the charger in now, and even though it stayed on 0% for 10 mins it's charging now.

    I'm actually scared.

Mine reads 39hours and 20 minutes until dead battery. It has been unplugged for a couple hours now with it still reading 100%

Well i called today and explained the situation ; and basically got told to visit my nearest mac specialist (I don't have a car and it's really far from where I live).

Needless to say I won't be spending £299 on the 3 year plan when it's consideribly useless.
