Hello I have a 2.16GHz MBP and my shift key just subtely fell off while I was typing and there is only one metal pieces underneath the key I cannot find the other one so I can cross them or whatever and snap it in.

What do I do?

I am a full-time student and have a part-time job and do not want to forfeit my computer to apple for the next 11 years to fix my goddamn key.

I'd take it in to an Apple store and show them the problem. They may just give you a new piece and send you on your way. After all, there's nothing more unattractive than a laptop with missing keys. Well, very little.
