14 month old 15" MBP.

Recently had a trip to the shop to replace a battery under warranty and get a new USB port. No other issues.

Noticed last couple of weeks that it doesn't really seem to sleep. Did some testing today with these results.

If I turn it of it stays off.

If I close the lid it goes to sleep. Within 20 seconds or so the monitor comes on for 10-15 seconds and then goes off - even though it's closed. It does this every 20 seconds for as long as I can stand to watch.

If I leave the lid open and command it to sleep it goes to sleep for 20 seconds or so and then wakes back up - doesn't ever seem to get back to sleep.

Are there software issues that could explain this?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

T

OK, OK, I should have looked here first, but I did just find this:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1776?viewlocale=en_US?sr=xlr8yourmac

Realized I just got a PCI card reader. Took it out and it is sleeping fine. Like a baby in fact.

Next question is this:

I there anyway to fix it so I can leave the card reader IN and the MBP will still go to sleep?

Thanks

T

PCI card reader? the MBP doesn't have PCI cards or slots..
don't you mean "ExpressCard" ?
