So, after years of denying that the MBP keyboard has a problem, my volume minus key is acting up.

However, my Mac has its share of dents around the case (display has a dent, lower case has a fairly significant dent).

Anyone has experience with the keyboard repair on less-than-pristine devices?

Will this make Apple deny my repair? My Mac is otherwise working fine and I still expect to get at least another 2-3 years out of it.

Shouldnt cause a problem. I’ve brought in machines with dents for repairs.

If you paid for apple care I can’t see why they would deny it. If it’s outside the apple care window then I expect them to cheap out and deny any repair

Mine had a dent on a corner caused by a fall. The genius noted it but said it would not affect the keyboard problem and went ahead with the repair (machine was still under warranty).

Stop being a denier.
Take it to the nearest brick-n-mortar Apple Store genius bar RIGHT AWAY.
See what they say.
You may get lucky.
