MBP dead after failed 10.5.5 update

During the update to 10.5.5 i got an error message stating that the package was corrupt, the update failed and i should contact my ... i dont remember who anymore. The computer shut down and after i turned it back on it wouldnt boot. After the boot chime nothing happens, there is only a loud sound going TOOT, TOOT, TOOT ...
I cant reset pram, boot from cd, ... the cd however does spin up, but nothing happens ...

What am i to do? 🙁

I just had the same exact problem... with some Transcend memory that's only 9 months old and was running wonderfully before I tried to upgrade to 10.5.5

Somehow I can't see this as being a coincidence?

If it's a bad stick of memory contact the manufacturer for a replacement (if under warranty). Did you run Apple's hardware test? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509
