I've had my MBP for a couple of days now, so far it's been perfect. Just now though, it looked as though half of the backlighting shut off for no reason. All of a sudden I got those dark vertical lines through the bottom of the screen. I rebooted, and now everything's fine... um, so ya, doubleyou-tee-eff?
Not to sure why it did that, but I hope it doesn't do it often (or ever again for that matter). I'd hate to have to take my new baby in for repairs.

it was just a glitch but if it happens again it is then a problem

This is not a glitch but unfortunately a very common problem with Penryn MBPs... You can take it for repair but none of us really know whether or not it's software or hardware related...

I suggest taking it back.

Im not taking it back unless it happens often. It only happened once, and it was fine once I restarted. It has been perfect the past couple of days, and as long as that doesn't happen again I see no reason to return it.
