MBP early 2011 handoff (what card to buy)

I have seen that it is possible to upgrode to make the macbook work with handoff by upgrading the internal wifi card.

id love a link to buy the card (somewhere that will get it here in a week) as reading other threads have driven me mad

I found it in that huge thread for 2011 MBPs. It's important that the card you get ends with a chip ID "CAX"

Good luck with it! I just installed it (not as easy as installing RAM or an SSD, that's for sure) and it works on Mavericks without kext modifications.

I can't imagine the shipping/customs fees you're paying for it to ship to Australia.

We don't pay any import duties or taxes on anything less than $1000. Delivery was $20. Thanks for the update!

What does the modification actually do to the kext? Change some sort of device Id?

Unfortunately, I don't know. I don't have Yosemite in any form and as such, haven't attempted to mess around with the kext files nor have I read too much into it.

how do i enable contunity and handoff now.

i have bluetoothe LE but it doesnt say if it suppports contunity.
