MBP ethernet port stops working; requires reboot

Hey guys, I've been having an issue with my MBP 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB ram and 8600GT. When I'm connected to the universities wired Ethernet connection in my dorm it drops out after 4 hours and 15 minutes. And sometimes after when I'm in windows it happens after 2 hours and 10 minutes. I've googled this and I just hit a brick wall as the only article that was useful is from macfixit and I need a subscription to view it.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this before?

I have an issue where i get a red "!" message and it says "blablabla is in use by blablabla"

Is that similar to your issue?

No, nothing like that happens, I use BwanaDik and it just notifies my that my IP has changed, and after that I need to reboot to use my ethernet connection.

The tech's at the school said that I may have the DNS changer Trojan, but I ran the scanner and it didn't find anything.
