MBP fan with ichat

have a mbp 2.16 with 3 gb ram. I was running garageband and ichat and a friend asked for a vid conference. so while in the vid conf. i noticed the temp up to 150 and fans on real high, about5000 rpm. the usage of ichat while in the vid was about 40-60% is this normal?

Sure, this is fine. Video Chat is very processor intensive. It's going to be similar to running any sort of video processing software, which wouldn't surprise you when it got the computer running very hot. As an aside, it also uses a large amount of bandwidth.

so then just let it run at 5000 or so RPM and let it just do what it needs to do?

Mine seems to kick on at random times but usually during any sort of flash will kick it in extra...
