MBP HDD not spinning down.

So I've noticed that the hard drive in my MBP never spins down....ever. I have the preference set to spin down when possible, but I have yet to hear it spin down.

Any ideas?

(This has happened on 2 different machines...multiple OS installs...PMU reset).

a friend of me had this once. what he did was look at the console and he noticed that a procces errored every half minute. the console is always very handy when stuff does not work
