I am running a bunch of video encoding and have all of them queued up in 64 bit HandBrake. The minute I started running the encoding, my i7 CPU usage went crazy and practically no CPU left for any other application. I look at the CPU usage for HandBrake and it says 350% ???? How can it run at 350%? Is it some kind of over clocking or is this normal?

I was wondering about this too, did my 1st rip/encode last night.

Question: the iStat widget only shows CPU usage on a 0-100% scale, I imagine this is accurate regardless of how many cores/threads are beeing used? So that activity monitor's 400% = iStat pro's 100%?

What about other iStat apps, like the ones that add monitoring icons on the menu bar?
