I also do a lot of typing, which is why I bought the M1 MBA to use while sitting on the floor. If I'm just reading, I use an iPad.

But, I find the M1 MBA slightly lacking power. Right now I'm using HandBrake to add a subtitle track to a three hour movie. HandBrake says it will take an hour. That seem quite slow to me.

Would an M2 MBA be enough faster to warrant an upgrade? Would the 15" version fit on my lap?

Wondering if/when they’ll release 11.9” MacBook how it will compare to 13” MBA.
I'd be very curious to see what chip they'd put into it. Part of me wondered if they ever planned to release a tiny MacBook with an A-series chip for around $800 or something, but if even the iPad Air has an M-series chip, they're very likely gonna put an M-series chip into their entire Mac lineup.

If/when it will happen, my guess it will be basic M series chip, but could be last years version to keep lower cost.
