MBP iSight not working

This has happened a few times on my C2D MBP. I read online where some people said to do a safe restart, etc. That didn't work. What the heck do I do? It works sometimes, but not all the time. I can't even open photobooth, I get an error (see attached).

check the comic app .. I'm 80% sure thats what using the cam other than photobooth

hmmm...I've never even used that app...

Make sure you aren't running anything like the Mirror Widget that might be using your camera.

No luck with that either. I have no widgets open other than iStat and Calculator.

Will AppleCare be able to do something? This is devastating. I neeeeeed the iSight.

nope.

Is the iSights light on?

Also check System Profiler. Under USB you should see it listed (like mine below). If not, then there is a hardware problem and you need to contact AppleCare.

I had that happen one time. I had just opened it from sleep and for whatever reason the isight cam came on, and it wouldn't turn off, so i just logged out and logged back in (or shut down and restarted .. not sure which I did) and that worked for me. It hasn't happened since.

Oh btw, I could tell the isight cam was on due to the light being on. it was weird.
