It's weird - there's a bit of a delay when doing things. Really noticed it from today.

It's also making more noise than before.

Bit worried. I'm a first time mac owner so I'm still getting to grips with it all.

I'm not sure how to describe it other than bit jumpy/delay between tasks, clicking buttons, typing etc?

Checked updates - all fine.Thought it was maybe just google chrome but seems it is the same for iTunes, safari, open office and general usage (finder etc)

It's getting pretty hot too. I have a black desk (just incase that matters)

Any advice/suggestions?

You may want a RAM upgrade, depending on your load.

Or your Hard disk may be needing some work.

Those delays are on every mac i've ever used. Eventually they get worse. I think it's a hard disk issue. Dunno about SSD.

You are best off doing a restart (as mentioned). If that does not fix it, open Activity Monitor and observe your load over a few days with your general tasks.
