I am having this issue, and it is annoying the crap out of me... it would be nice if some people could sort of test it to see if others have the same problem. Basically, my issue is that if my SR MBP falls asleep while attached to my stereo playing music, it won't wake up.... the furthest i can get it is a black screen with the mouse pointer... then I have to hold the power button to turn it off. Here's what I want you to do. Set up your mbp just like mine and see if it happens. 1. go to system prefs>security and set the option to require login after wake from sleep. ( I have this set, and maybe this is causing the problem). 2. set your mbp to sleep after 1 minute (so you don't have to wait). 3. open up front row and start playing some music, but then pause it. 4. wait for it to fall asleep. 5. wake it by pressing and holding the spacebar and see what happens. I'd really appreciate if a few people did this... hopefully this is just an issue that will be fixed with 10.5.2 but I'm not sure. thanks.
I have had three SR MBP's and all three give out on me whilst using front row playing itunes, just like yours. I am hoping they fix this, as it is rather tedious.
I did everything you said and I hit spacebar and it woke up and I just exited out of front row? I wonder if there is a setting that prevents your computer from sleeping when Frontrow is on. Oh well, hope this helps!
thanks guys. i have been messing around, and this has happened when just playing from iTunes. also, with FR, sometimes i can get to the FR screen, but it's totally frozen... leopard is so damn unstable... i miss tiger's stability.
As someone using Leopard. Its the most stable OS I've ever used. My 2.33C2D had no problem with the FR wakeup.
