I'm going to buy a new MacBook, after research I decided that I would buy the M2 MBA 16gb directly from Apple (at 1,400 USD). The thing is that recently browsing Amazon I saw a renewed M1 Pro MBP (at 1,500 USD).

So now I'm confused, I've bought renewed stuff on Amazon, but never something at this price point. Is it worth it or should I buy the M2 MBA directly from Apple?

IMO the M1 Pro MBP is way better in every respect (except portability, of course) and therefore pretty much a no-brainer compared to the Air. That being said, buying new is obviously the safer option compared to renew. Tbh I'd still go with the Pro, hands down.

The M1 Pro is more than I need, but for just 100 more dollars I can get a better machine even if it isn't new. Apple has it Certified Refurbished for 1550 USD, so I'll maybe buy it directly from them.

If this is from an Amazon reseller (not Amazon.com itself), "renewed" likely means nothing more than "used." Maybe cleaned up a bit and they checked it turns on.

Not the same as Apple refurbs, which are literally as good as new.
