Greetings,

This is a MBP Mid 2012 , 2.9 GHz processor, 8G memory 1 TB storage. I am not using it much except for music and photo storage, and the DVD player/ CD drive when needed. It's currently running High Sierra 10.13.6.

I don't have a burning desire to upgrade the iOS, but I would like some feedback about whether there would be any advantage to installing a newer OS.

It really works OK, on occasion there are things that won't work on High Sierra, but not much

Any feedback appreciated !!

I'd either stick with High Sierra or try Mojave.
I WOULD NOT recommend Catalina -- if you still use any 32 bit software, it WILL NOT RUN under Catalina (with a very few exceptions, such as Aperture, which can be tweaked to run with Catalina).

Thank you..... weren’t there some bugs or complaints about Mojave ? I recall there were not a lot of improvements and also....

I have always found it difficult to get previous versions of iOS software. Apple does not make it easy.
