    :apple:hey guys,

i know this threadwill cause some drama but its the million dollar questions for any upcoming MBP buyer. When should i buy the computer?

Should a potential buyer strike now? or should they wait until the mid 2011 or even the 2012 MBP are released.

I know its impossible to know, but when are they usually released and will the 2012 be sporting some crazy upgrade that i will want that is worth the wait? :apple:

O dear god, why again?

No one knows when it'll be released or what specs it will have.

If you can wait, wait. If you need a laptop now, get it now.

The earliest an update will come is around November, this is when Intel will release new Sandy Bridge Quad cores with 2.4 ghz and 2.5 ghz ( both have a TDP of 45W just like the current Quad cores in the MBP ).

I suspect it's going to be just a spec bump which you can select in the Apple store.

Next MacBook Pro... coming soon, to Summer 2012.
Processor downgraded to Intel Duo Core 2.0GHz
    Graphic Card: Intel 3000 for 13", 15" and 17"

    haha.
Who knows... they might just do that.

I doubt the specs are going to be any better though, cause Intel still has a long way to go before the next generation of intel comes out. Same goes with graphic.

The laptop 15" specs are more than enough to meet your highest demand and probably even in the future for the next 3-4 years before you get your new mac.

Why does the buying guide say "Buy only if you need it - Approaching the end of a cycle"

if there's not going to be one out soon?
