MBP Mock-up thread, take 2.

Because I don't have a life, here's a new mock-up thread!

Here's mine.
It's an improved version from one of my previous mock-ups. I even made a hip little Apple-esque phrase to go along with it. I may continue working on it and improving it if I get bored enough.

Anyway, here ya go:

Here are my design ideas:

- New Keyboard
- Magnetic Latch
- Larger, multi-touch trackpad
- IR sensor in line with optical drive (ala Mac mini)
- Sleep light is now the same as the camera light: imbeded in such a way that you can't see it when it's off.

Overall, just a light re-design.

Anyway, let's keep this thread centered more around actual mock-ups and less around talk/speculation of the next redesign (we have enough of those threads already).

Sold. I think I will like the functionality of the new MBA keyboard but it certainly looks less professional than the current MBP keyboard. I think the trackpad will be bigger with a skinny track button like the MBA. All in all the best mockup ive seen. Better then the SPICU crap that was disproportioned with only one speaker and no power button. Good work

Yeah I think they'll keep the speakers visible for clarity and volume. The MacBook speakers are not half as good as the MacBook Pros.


Ps: Why the hell did apple not announce a whole new revision of laptops at Macworld?? I guess they weren't finished yet!!!

they didn't announce at macworld because the new intel chips weren't available for the macbookpro. thats why they are launching on 26th at this special event a.k.a. Macworld Take 2....

I def. see them going black to be uniform with the rest of the mac line.

I agree--white/silver keys look a heck of a lot more "pro" than black. I am hoping this is what they go with. After all, they have done white keys on silver before too--that's what the new apple keyboards look like.

That's a good idea. I like the current color/shape of the MBP keys, but I'm sure they'll change at least the shape to match all the others. I just hope they don't make them black, I think that would make it look cheap.

When I saw a MacBook Air, I was really disappointed by the black keys, just looked like a bland Windows laptop in that regard - so unsuitable.

I hope the MBP doesn't have black keys.

I've been messing around in Photoshop, trying to see if I can make silver "chicklet" style keys. Might take a little work.

TiBook used to have black keys… I still love the way that computer looks!
