MBP mouse button is sticking

I have had a problem with my MBP button seeming to almost be sticking when I use it. It doesn't really stick but it gives me the impression that some kind of sticky residue is under it. It doesn't sound normal when clicking to me. Is there some way i can clean it or do I need to go to the Genius bar?

Um, there IS no mouse that's built into the MBP.

Thanks, I'll try that. If it's some kind of sticky residue it might not work though. I don't recall ever having spilled anything on the MBP, so we'll see. I feel that if I could just take the trackpad button off and clean it (with alcohol or something) it would be fine.
