MBP Needs Service, Not Shipped Yet

How long does it normally take for the Apple Store to send a laptop in for repair? Reason I ask is, I dropped it off Nov 8th, but the repair status says "Shipment to repair center pending (09-Nov-2008)." The "genius" said 7 days I should get my laptop back.

That "seven" days could mean seven to ten "working" days - in other words, closer to two weeks. Sometimes, Apple return repaired products early. More usually, they are late. I waited weeks for an iPod which was eventually replaced.
