Last night proved what I've thought for a while.

I was online (safari and mail were the only apps running) and left the computer and went to bed. I woke up this morning and the batt was completely dead regardless of the fact there was about 8hrs of battery remaining and it was set to sleep after 20mins of inactivity.

Am I missing something?

that is quite a problem..

did you leave any windows open in safari?? because it would consider that you are still using it and not "inactive", especially if there is a flash advertisement on the page or something.

i would personally just shut the lid when your done

Yeah, your computer is probably fine. Random things like leaving iTunes running, Safari running will stop the computer from sleeping. Mail might possibly do it as well.

Another Case of Insomnia

I noticed the same problem with my new MBP 13" last night. I fell asleep, but the computer did not. Like the original poster, I just had Safari and Mail open. Then I tried closing all apps and, for testing, set the preferences to make it sleep after 1 minute. It did not. After some more attempts, sleeping worked again, although I did not change anything. Any ideas?
