I've been dealing with this problem for at least six months now and have yet to find a real solution from anyone. Essentially, my internal iSight abruptly stopped working. All applications state that there is no camera available. The iSight does not show up in the system profiler at all.
Solutions that have failed:
1.) SMC, PRAM, NVRAM Resets
2.) Safe Boot
3.) Hardware Diagnostics
3.) Reapplying Related Updates
4.) Checked Hardwire Connection
5.) Tried "iSight Fix" Startup Item
I'm avoiding going to the Apple store at all costs, as I assume they will want to send it in for repairs. Unfortunately, I don't have Applecare and this computer is no longer under warranty.
Does anyone have any ideas? What are your thoughts?
**Note: My iSight does not show up as "Vendor-Specific" like many others have been noticing. It doesn't show up whatsoever.**
