MBP Penryn Static/Fuzzy/Scratching Sounds From Speakers At Boot

....This is my second MBP, actually my work machine, anyway...when I turn the machine on I get a horrible noise out of the speakers, scratching/static noise at boot up. Its supposed to be the sound of the machine turning on, (whatever that boot up sound is called), as soon I load OSX or Windows (bootcamp) the sound is fine. It only occurs when I turn the machine on.

Any ideas before I call Apple Care?

Are you sure it's from the speakers and not the optical drive (right palm rest)? if it is from the optical drive it's normal, because the computer is checking for a CD at startup to prevent things from getting stuck in there.
