As you should be, the Intel Core Duo is one amazing little chip. Personally, I think that I am going to wait for Conroe/Merom to debut before I buy a new Mac. :)

well that's not really a fair comparison! the G5's are mainly a desktop and server cpu that creates huge amounts of heat and power consumption in order for it to perform well...it doesn't matter how old it is! The core duo is a low power notebook cpu that performs just as well if not better than the G5! That is whats so awesome about the core duo is it performs on the same level as the G5 while creating much less heat and requiring a lot less power.
