MBP Power Supply connector plastic cap replacement?

June 5th to September 19th.....not too bad, considering the laptop has been on the road quite a bit.

I finally lost (seems so, at least :)) that little semi-clear plastic cap shaped like a rectangle with rounded edges that covers/protects the connector of the MBP power supply when it's not connected to the computer (and being transported).....at least, that's what I used it for.

I did a quick search and couldn't find any relevant posts, so sorry in advance if this has been addressed.

Does Apple or someone else sell a replacement for such a dinky little thing.....although, frankly, I found it to be quite useful to protect the connector :D.

Next time you go to the Apple store just ask them for it I am pretty sure they won't charge you :)
 
Appreciate it anyway, squeeks.

Went by one of the two Apple stores nearby me in Dallas (Knox St.) and one of the employees rooted around back for 20 minutes trying to find me one -- no luck :(

Maybe this weekend if I head to mall (another store at Northpark) I'll ask there.

At least the guy at the Apple Store didn't think I was nuts for asking :D.

Your not nuts, I use that little plastic cap on my magsafe power supply :). Its so small that I am surprised I haven't lost it for good yet....
 
You mean that little thing I threw away within 5 minutes of unboxing? You're really going to connect that each time you disconnect?

wow! i thought i was the only one that cares for that little plastic cap/cover for the mag-safe. glad some people are on the same boat as i am.:)
 
I used it to cover/protect the metal portion of the MagSafe adapter to keep it from getting scratched up, dinged, lint/dirt caught between the pins, and other borderline obsessive-compulsive reasons I could think of to use the plastic cover :eek:. Seriously though, I think it offers a reasonable way to protect the most delicate portion of the power supply.

Really bugs me I can't find a replacement without more effort. I would think there's a box full of these somewhere in Cupertino

I had a friend that threw his out and some water got on it. He wiped it off (not well enough) it then rusted and would no longer charge his computer. He had to buy a whole new cable which is not cheap. Think about it.

Went to Paramus store Sat Oct 2nd, the guy was great, got one from back,,,nice people
 
Glad this had a happy ending, i am also a follower of the little plastic cap.

I also still keep the plastic cap for my hdmi to mini dvi adapter, and for my vga to mini dvi adapter ;D
 
I also still have my little cap that came with my MBP, but I never thought to use it when transporting it. I might start doing that. :eek:
 
I need one of these plastic protectors. I recently lost mine.

If you mean mag safe 2 ones yes I have quite a few, around some where as I have just moved office. But I will take a look and PM you, when I find one. Dont worry about paying.
