Ok so as I am looking at the apple online store it shows me that i have the option to buy iWork pre-installed on it. does this mean that if i go by my mbp at the real store it wont have iWork on it and i would have to buy it separatly?

Yes, but both options cost the same and installing yourself is pretty easy.

The store should do exactly the same deals, you could call them and find out

You can buy it, so long as it's on the same order/receipt as your MBP, you can mail in for your $30 rebate, that way it would come not-preinstalled.
