Hi All
I am planning to upgrade the ram in my MBP (mid 2010 i7) - since Lion 4gb just doesn't seem to be enough.
The memory I will be taking out of the MBP is made up of two 2gb ddr3 1066mhz chips. I will be replacing those with two 4gb of similar specs (micron/hynix ddr3 1066mhz)
The question I have is, could I use these chips in my iMac? It is a C2D mid 2009 iMac, and currently has 2 ddr3 1066mhz chips, although made by a different manufacturer. Will these chips play nice together or could this cause problems? As I understand it the speed should be the key factor, but I am very new to macs and not sure of the specifics...
The MBP has ram which reports manufacturer (0x802c) and the iMac (0x80ad) if that helps.
Thanks, any info would be greatly appreciated!
