Does anyone know if the 7 days delay currently seen for the 15" MBP is due purely to the number of orders they have received or are they experiencing any problems that they may be trying to resolve?

I doubt it. I RMAd my defective unit which arrived at their warehouse on Friday. On Friday afternoon (EST) it showed as shipped but missed the cutoff and now today it shows as in transit from Shanghai.

My order is a 2.2GHz SR.

I would say high demand. Started 1-3 days, then 3-5, now 5-7...
