My uMBP 2.66 C2D came today, should I wait until tomorrow to open it to see if I can exchange it for a new one at the Apple store? Should I call Apple store, give them the order # and see if they will do it over the phone? Or just open it and enjoy the new unibody coming from my early 2008 lemon?

I don't even think I needed Arrandale power at all, but I'm just wondering 😛

Yeah, if it is a replacement I would assume that it is a refurb in non-retail packaging. i.e. Non-exchangeable.

I could be completely wrong though! I have never received a replacement computer from Apple.

All replacements are brand new in a sealed box same as if you bought it.. Even come from the same place... They have a 1 year warranty and everything.

no need for arrandale power, but i guess u need new graphics power?

dont need the CPU or GPU enhancements the next one will offer, and not really going to sell my laptop, so i guess ill open this one 😛

yeah it was a "feeler" for sale thread.

Typing on it now, yeah for my purposes (and a free laptop) i dont need arrandale.

if i were buying a laptop and forking over my money, i'd probably wait for the latest and greatest just because it's my money.

I would wait, whats one day? go out and do something else to keep yourself entertained. If you can exchange it for better specs/same money then why not? whether you need it or not, its not costing you more.

Typing on my new MBP. don't need arrandale or a gpu bump. i don't do anything that will probably push this machine anyways.

unibody >>>>>>> pre-unibody
