    So basically this.

I plug in my EarPods into the combo jack and no mic appears on the Recording tab in the "Sound" Control Panel widget. When I try this in OS X it works just fine.

I've got all the Windows updates, removed Boot Camp 4 and then installed Boot Camp 5, then reinstalled Cirrus Logic drivers, each time rebooting it three times - nothing helped.

I know I could use a USB headset (which I have to do right now), but I really like the EarPods, and they have a decent mic too, compared to the ****** built-in one.

Should I try reinstalling Windows 7 or even getting Windows 8? Does this combo jack work for anybody?

Seems to be a common problem. With any MacBook. Just let google tell you about it.
