Hello everyone, I am looking for some help/ advise
I have an early 2011 MBP

Processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB

And tonight when I booted it it showed the apple logo and then the screen was pixelated and then it continued to boot. I have run the apple hardware check and it came back with no problems. I have attached a picture and a video on youtube of the issue.
Youtube video of boot up:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fduOMmzWQoE

It looks like you may have a bad GPU. Have you tried switching between discrete ( your radeon chip) and the intel HD chip?

You can do this in settings> displays.

You could also try an SMC reset which may cure the problem:

I've found on my MBP that turning off auto graphics switching can help in some applications as well.

AHT is not always 100% reliable though.

Thanks for the input, I have tried the SMC reset no luck there, I am also still covered under apple care so I am going to try them if its an issue I want to get it repaired, not do a work around.

I could not locate in display where to switch though

It sounds like the discrete GPU is on its way out....Apple is your best bet I think. Good luck.:)

Here is the link about switching just in case it may help further diagnose the problem

Spoke with apple care and they had me do the cmd+Option+p+r and it is no longer doing that, so hopefully that fixes it, thank you all for your help and suggestions, I appreciate it.
