Will Snow Leopard be able to be booted from an SD card reader connected to an ExpressCard slot as it will be from the built-in SD card reader?Apple has stated that Leopard can be installed onto an SD card in the new MacBook Pro's. Does anybody know if this is the case with an SD card reader connected to an ExpressCard slot as well?
Just read on ifixit that the SD cards don't sit flush. (Says they stick out almost .5") That's a shame. Was hoping I could keep a 16/32gb card in there for added storage.
I wonder if one could design a micro-SD or mini-SD card holder that would slide in flush? I've only ever seen the adapters the same size/shape as a regular SD card, but there's no reason I can think of they have to be...
But then how would you get it out.![]()

Can a firmware solve this matter?
to boot from an SD card, you would have to format the card to Mac Extended Format, or whatever it's called. Would that then make the card unusable in, for instance, a camera?
does anyone actually boot from SD successfully?
xp, visita, win7, leopard or snow leopard...
