Hello everyone. So I currently own the base model 13" MBP (Mid 2012). I purchased it in November. In December I upgraded the ram to 8GB.

Here's my issue. Randomly (about every week and a half) when my computer is asleep, I come back to it and it will have restarted itself and tell me that it had an error and needed to restart. The computer's never done this while I've been on it only when it's sleeping. Now the computer runs absolutely fine otherwise. I just can't seem to figure out why this is happening. I installed the ram the right way but even if I didn't I'm not sure where this issue would come from. Any ideas???

Here is the detailed Apple report:

Uninstall the EnGenius USB network adapter that you've installed. (You may need to run an Uninstaller utility that came with the software installation package to successfully uninstall it.)

ah ok. I have to find the USB uninstall. I can't even find it in Finder. I didn't think a usb flash drive would cause this much trouble.

No problem. I wouldn't say it's totally resolved yet, though. You mentioned that the crash happened every week and a half. So, I'd wait at least two or three weeks without any crashes before saying it's resolved.

There are reports of USB network adapters causing issues in OS X (kernel crashes, mainly.) Usually due to a bad driver. If you go a month without any crashes, and you really want to use that adapter, maybe check the EnGenius website at that point, to see if there's an updated driver for that adapter.

If it were me, I would stop using it, though. The system you have already has a physical Ethernet port, as well as a wireless adapter. Unless you have the need for multiple wired NIC ports, there's really little to no need to use a USB one (unless the built-in port is broken.)

To he honest that was my sisters flash drive. She gave it to me to put some word documents on my computer. I didn't assume it was a network adapter because it just looked a flash drive and I only used it a few times. The weird thing is I don't remember installing any drivers what so ever. The whole thing is just weird. But thanks anyways for your help. Hopefully I don't have any more issues in the future.
