hi guys I have 2016 tb map and wanting to upgrade only bad thing about mbp is bad battery life so please help and tell how are you finding the battery life of 2017 mbp tb 13 inch I love the MBP it is solid and marvelous love it THANKS you people are very nice

Im on the 2016 TouchBar 15 inch and am absolutely LOVING this battery coming from a 2012 retina that would maaaaybe get like 4 hours if brightness was like 4 notches. Im averaging 10 - 11 hours which is stated by apple. I always thought the 10 hours was just marketing but I've been proven wrong.

2017 MBP TB 13 here...Battery averages 9-11 hours depending on what I'm doing...Keep in mind though, that this is light usage...pretty much what Apple quotes their battery life with...web browsing, media consumption, note taking, etc...Also, brightness is around half as the screen on these can go very bright, which is nice, but will murder your battery.

With that said, if the 2016 doesn't satisfy you, I highly doubt the 2017 will...They are essentially the same...the processors are only slightly more efficient.

Just got my MacBook Pro 2017 (no Touch Bar) - the battery life really is in the iPad arena! I'm used to laptops/tablets (running a desktop OS) lasting at most three and a half hours - was really surprised at the battery life coming out of the new one!

I'm using a macbook pro 2017 tb version for a week now and I'm really impress with the battery life, currently getting around 9 hours of it. This is web browsing, emails all day and note taking (here and there I watch youtube videos or listen apple music ). My brightness is around 50% most of the time.

I am also pleased to report that the battery on my 2017 13" MBP TB (i5, 512, 16GB) is as advertised. I've had the machine for two weeks now, and I'm getting consistent times. Before buying I spent countless hours on this and other, similar forums, poring over the cryptic messages of extremely poor battery life (keyboard issues aside), and battling with myself whether to switch back to Windows after 13 years in the Appleland. I'm glad (so far) that I went with MBP, as this computer is a joy to use. My main tasks are writing (iA writer in fullscreen), SketchUp, and PDF databases (Sente, Mendeley), apart from the obvious Safari and Mail. I haven't really needed to go over 75% brightness yet, but this might change come summer sunshine. As of now I charge it overnight and take it without the cable for the entire day of work.

It really depends on what you're doing. The battery life is LONG 10-12 is you're not doing much, emails low brightness etc. But if you're like me and are editing in FCPX or photoshop the battery life goes fast, very fast maybe 4-5 hours tops.

Brightness on 4 notches?! lol,i can barely see anything on that setup with intensive eye strain to see anything. No wonder u have 10 hours. 7 notches is ok,anything beyond is ridiculous

Maybe it wasn't clear but I was talking about using 4 notches on my 2012 while in the classroom. This one is always at 50 - 75% and getting 10-12 hours. Im sure it would last even longer if I used 4 notches on this one in the classroom.

2017 mbp tb 13" runs on battery approximately 1 hour longer than the 2016 mbp tb

Yesterday I was responsible for the sound of a theatrical play and I used my 2016 tbMBP 13'' for the entire day without a charger. I turned of the Wi-Fi and the brightness was relatively low but I thought I'd post the results because I find them to be really impressive ! Kind of amazing when you consider that the battery is less than 4500 mAh !

I put it to sleep during a break that we had for 30 minutes but no more than that.

The only way to see your Macbook battery life used just like in iOS by using Battery logger by Ananta Sjanturi. I found it from another forum, nice one. Sadly, My MBP 2017 can only last about 6-7 hours

I’m on the 2017 MacBook Pro 13 (only has 14 cycles) and my battery life is either good or pretty terrible. How are people getting such good battery life?
