My MBP, (2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 , 10.8.5) has started to periodically totally go black, like it's shut down, all of a sudden. Then, after about 10, 15 seconds, will come back on, like nothing happened. It doesn't have any rhyme or reason - doesn't matter if I'm typing or not, it will just go black. At first, this only happened once every 2 weeks or so, but now, it's happening once in every work session, like every day. I fear that this is going to keep getting worse and, might ultimately result in total death, which I don't want. any ideas as to what might be causing this?
🙁

Did you notice the same behaviour prior to upgrading to 10.8.5 or did it start after the software update? Are you using a mid-2010 15" MBP?

This might actually be part of a known issue with the mid-2010 models. You'll have to print out the support doc and show it to a Genius for repair/replacement.
