MBP to HDTV issue..

Okay, so I figured out how to connect my MBP to my TV through an adapter for DVI to HDMI, but the audio still doesn't play from my TV.

I have a mini-stereo cable that has a headphone plugin at one end, and a white and red plugin at the other. Is it possible to connect these to make the audio work? Doesn't the HDMI cable alone have audio capabilities?

If you are going from HDMI to DVI you are going to lose the audio signal. If you are going from DVI to HDMI, you dont have a audio signal because DVI doesn't carry it. Use a 3.5mm Mini-Stereo Male to Two RCA Male Speaker Cable to connect to the tv from the audio out port of the mbp.
