I was changing some settings when I discovered that you can click an option under keyboard/trackpad settings. The default is that when holding down control you can currently use the two fingers "pinch" gesture on the MBP trackpad to zoom. It seems like this would show that the current MBs, MBPs could be upgraded to use the more advanced gestures of the MBA, right? Is it just an OS thing, rather than the hardware?

You don't pinch, you just hold ctrl and scroll up or down.

Ah... I see. Wishful thinking, I guess. Thanks for the clarification.

It's not a "pinch", just the two finger vertical scroll, while holding down "control" (or whatever you choose).

Not sure if the trackpad is capable or not, but the new gestures don't look like they require the precision of the iPhone/iPT. It would be nice if we get the new functionality. The only upgrade I've seen [from Apple] is the Powerbooks getting two-finger "tap for right-click".
