Hi,

I have a new macbook pro laptop. I'm also lucky enough to have a 32 inch lcd HDTV. I'm can connect the two and use front row fine but I'm wondering if there is a way to turn off or put the laptop LCD to sleep when I'm using the HDTV?

The reason I ask this is it is distracting see the output on two displays when you're trying to watch a movie etc. I could turn the laptop and have it face another direction but it would still light up the room; this would also make it difficult to use the remote.

Some of you may mention I could close the lid and use an external keyboard and mouse, my question to you is does this work if you only have a mouse? I have a USB mouse here but no keyboard.

Regards

My MBP wakes up whenever I plug or unplug a USB device, so I would say just plugging in a mouse while your notebook is asleep should work.

1. close lid, causing MBP to sleep
2. use USB/Bluetooth Keyboard to wake up MBP
3. Main display should now be LCD TV
4. Open up lid if you wish, it will be turned off.

That is how my PB works.
