Hello from Rome, i got this mbp 17" i7 8gbram 5 weeks ago from Apple (Roma Est). http://www.apple.com/it/retail/romaest/

the notebook is in the apple service now. They tried to reset SMC and nothing. It suddenly turned off in the middle of a render, and never started again.

Is it normal for a mbp to be that unstable? could it be possible that they're selling refurbished products under brand new prices ? and last, if you're a designer who uses the machine in a heavy way (3d renders, motion graphics) what's your experience?

thanks and sorry for my second-hand english.

No, it's not normal at all. It sounds like there may be a problem with your logic board or battery. I'm sure Apple will find the problem.

No, that's not possible. They have a site for selling refurbished products, and refurbished products are as stable as new products.

I imagine there was a manufacturing flaw and something broke prematurely from heat. it happens, unfortunately.
