I've been dealing with excessive heat coming from the underside of my Macbook Pro for a while. It appeared to be related to the battery compartment and only when the MBP was charging.
However, I recently brought my MBP back to my desktop and connected all of my peripherals back up (monitor, monitor USB hub, FW400 external drive), except for my OWC FW800 drive I use for Time Machine.
I'm noticing now that, without the FW800 drive connected, the heat issue is non-existent.
I just connected it back up and the heat is returning.
What's up with that? Is this common? Is there a fix?

Thanks.
