MBP USB Issues

Does anyone know of issues with the USB ports on the MBP. The left hand side one on mine seems to have gone defective, and its less than a week old.

I first found the problem when I was plugging in my time machine drive and it wasn't recognized on the computer. Eventually I tried plugging into the right hand USB and it worked fine. I confirmed the problem using my iPod also.

Looks like a trip to the Apple Store.
