The latch is a bit fiddly, I'm not much of a fan of the scooped keys on the keyboard, I've never used a macbook air , but I'm assuming it's the better keyboard.

My biggest peeve though it does not have a mic in jack, it only has line in. So you either need to use a pre-amp or get a USB microphone and kiss goodbye to one of those precious slots.

Other than that, and I am getting used to the keyboard it's a work of art and decimates any other laptop I've used. I particularly like the sensors.

15" 2.6 Penryn and I LOVE I
Amazing laptop and awesome power with portability.
Its flawless

I've had my MBP for four months - I like the design, the performance, the screen (15") it's very quiet in use, and also OS X as an operating system. The battery life is also excellent (4+ hours, on average).

I have the 2.2 Santa Rosa model, upgraded to 4GB of RAM.

I've found nothing to dislike so far...:)

I have a 17" MBP 2.33GHz and my only complaint is quite minor and not exclusive to Macs, (happened on my Alienware laptop too). I hate that dust can get trapped in the speaker grill. It's really obvious in altering it's appearance slightly (to me), and I've tried to vacuum it out to no avail. I am not brave enough to try sticking a pin in there to dislodge it. Other than that, nothing but love. :)

I've noticed that as well....though I've never really been annoyed about it enough to try and clean it out...

Heavy. I've been keeping this thing on my lap and I start to notice that my legs hurt. It's not as light as Apple makes it out to be.

I have the MBP that you mentioned and it is fantastic. Very speedy, great display, pretty light, fast processor, and many other great features. The only negatives I can come up with are the latch is harder to open than on an iBook or the Santa Rosa MBP (which is rather proplexing), and the battery is not very reliable (talking from previous models though, I've not had a problem with the Penryn version).

I love how I smoke less and wash my hands more around my macbook pro :) health + 10 points

As an update, I stopped by an Apple store and looked at the new MacBook and MacBook Pro's. I didn't expect to be saying this, but I actually like the regular MacBook better then the Pro.

-- The MacBook feels lighter. I'm a huge guy (6'8", large hands, legs, could play football). I was expecting the Pro to be my choice but it seems too heavy to be using on a lap daily.
-- The keyboard on the MacBook feels better. It's similar to the MacBook Air's keyboard.
-- The screen seems much brighter then the Pro. I tried adjusting the brightness on both models, the 13.3" MacBook and the 15" MacBook Pro. The 17" is out of my price range, but still seems rather dim.
-- I saw the yellowing on 3 out of 5 displayed MacBook Pro's. One of the employees told me this was normal and since the amount of complaints has been minimal, it isn't considered a real defect.

That being said I'm now considering the 2.4GHZ MacBook White model with upgraded 250GB hard disk, and adding 4GB of ram on my own. With the cost savings I can buy an iMac early next year and just use both together.

What are they talking abought yellowing on the bottom of the screen ? Is that the glossy or matt and only on the 15" or 17" ?

Its mostly on the 15" im pretty sure, most people who got the 17" usually got a high res atleast on these forums and they hardly have any yellow problems, it also doesnt matter whether its glossy or matte.

I like:
-The design
-The screen
-The speed
-The keyboard
-Full DVI out
-MagSafe
-Decent battery life
-Max 4GB RAM

I don't like:
-Lack of USB ports
-No user replaceable HD
-Average wireless range
-How hot it can get doing more then just basic tasks
-Sleep issues (maybe more Leopards fault)

LOL Microsoft makes computers now?
And you're a IT consultant?

As an independent IT Consultant myself who does Microsoft Training and services Microsoft computers / servers. I love it. I wish I had bought one sooner.

The only issue I have is that the front latch lid can be a pain for me to open, i wish it had the mac book air magnetic latch.

Other than, I've only had it less than week, and It's been great.

I can't tell if you're being snarky or just having fun.

If you're snarky:
Well, I forgot that sometimes third graders are allowed to go to the computer lab, and I had to spell out every single detail.

When I say service Microsoft Computers, my guess is that most people (not the greenmeanie I guess) would understand that to mean computers with Microsoft Operating Systems installed. MS, much to many peoples' chagrin, still happens to hold a large (very large, but shrinking slowly) market share over other non-MS operating systems such as OS X, Linux, etc.

If you're being fun,
Of course microsoft makes computers, Wouldn't you claim the xbox as a computer (processor, hard disk, operating system, inputs / outputs, etc..)? :)

Fast, thin, light, decent speaker (17"), supports optical out, good graphics card.

Dislikes:
Options are limited (I'd rather get the low end 15" config in the 17"), MagSafe is difficult to use my lap, 17" hinge is not as tight as it should be, CCFL backlight in the standard 17"
