MBP video card question

Hey guy I'm a newbie here but I have a quick question is it possible or logical to upgrade your video card in the older MBP from the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M to 9600? Also if possible will it make a difference?

I think the chip is soldered on to the logic board.

As you can see in the following image, the chip is soldered onto the logic board.
