I'm looking for a benchmark comparison between these two macs.

1) Macbook Pro 13" i7 2.7ghz 2011
2) Macbook Air 13" i7 1.7ghz 2011

What good are benchmarks, if you don't state your needs? Email, word processing, web surfing, general media consumption, need for weight reduction...go MBA. Gaming, need of ODD, possible graphical intensive tasks, go MBP.

Air.

The main question is if you don't want to compromise on power or portability.

With the flash storage on the air, it should be zipper than the 13" pro for all hard drive related tasks. As for processor related tasks, I dont need all that power since I just need it for basic usage.

Sounds like an Air is perfect for you 😀
