MBP won't boot.

I have a first generation Intel MacBook Pro.
I installed a new 500GB hard drive in it. I tried to install Leopard on it but it says it can not boot from that drive. Any help with why?

Non working wire or corrupt logic board?

DId you format and partition it first? If not that is your problem more than likely.

Have you used Disk Utility to format/erase the new HDD?
