im having issues connecting to the net with my mbp...

the internet is running (when I switch it to my other computer - pc - it runs - that's how, well - im typing this now...)

but when i plug it into my mac and go to network settings...it's not "green" but "yellow"

it keeps giving me the ip - 169.254.162.148 even if i hit renew

if i go to the command prompt on the pc to see the ip - the pc is giving me 38.200.4.159

is there a way to reset the mac so it finds a new ip...it seems like its just stuck on that 169.254.162.148 thing...

thanks!

Turn off the PC. Turn off your Mac. Unplug your modem. Fire your modem up, wait till it loads. Connect the ethernet cable to your Mac and boot it. We'll have to do this each time you switch between your PC and Mac, this is not necessary when switching from OS X to Windows via Boot Camp as I found out to my surprise.
