My MBP, 15" 2010 model won't charge or turn on. I've done as much as I could to fix it: tried different adapters and resetting the SMC etc.

When I press the power button, absolutely nothing happens.

When the charger is connected, the light is a very dim green, not like the brightness when completely charged.

This has happened before but I could use another charger but now none are working.

Tbh, I was expecting the release of a new mbp last year (it has been so freaking long) and may have been treating it without total care.

Is this a battery problem? Or some other hardware problem?

Update

After opening and cleaning the laptop and checking connections, I managed to get it working again but the charger light was still the dim green. It charged to 44%, then I closed the lid and when I came back to it about 5 minutes later and it had shut down. I turned it back on and the status is now "Battery is not charging" and "Power Source: Power Adapter"
